Couple arrested for buying baby boy on black market after having 7 daughters

(Scroll down for video) A couple who desperately wanted a son, decided to buy a boy on the black market after having a large family of girls.

The couple of China, whose surname name is Chen, paid 92,000 yuan (about $14,000) for the baby boy.

However, they never made it home with the child. Police arrested the couple just after the transaction in Guangdong Province.

Police were called after the child went missing. Authorities were able to track down the human traffickers and they recovered the baby from the couple.

The baby, who had been bought and sold several times before being sold to Chen, was safely returned to his parents.

Eight people were arrested for their involvement in the kidnapping and sale of the baby.

Mr. Chen told the People’s Court of Fengshun County, that he and his wife traveled to the city to adopt the baby boy from a man surnamed Wang.

He said that he was told that the large sum of money that he paying, was being handed over to the birth parents to cover the cost of the baby’s living expenses prior to the adoption.

Chen explained that he and his wife have 7 daughter, but they wanted a boy so that he can carry on the family name so they decided to complete their family by buying a son.
