The South Carolina woman has been charged after deputies found fetal remains during the eviction.

Fountain Inn police chief Keith Morton said that the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, was evicting 41-year-old Jamie Melissa Wilson, when they found the human remains.

While deputies were taking inventory of belongings, they came across the container that held the decomposing remains of an infant.

Laurens County Coroner Nick Nichols said that tests revealed the baby was born at 38 weeks. The child died about one year ago.

According to Morton, Wilson told police the baby had stopped breathing after birth. However, instead of calling 911 or seeking medical attention, she wrapped the baby in a hoodie and placed the child inside a trash bag. She eventually placed the remains in a container, where deputies found the body.

Wilson, who has two other children ages 21, and 5, did not reveal the gender of the baby.

Wilson was charged with homicide by child abuse or neglect. She is being held without bond.
