A female prisoner severely abused other inmates by repeatedly assaulting them and using a homemade adult toy to penetrate their private parts, according to police in New York.

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced that the female inmate on Rikers Island, has been indicted for first-degree aggravated sexual abuse and a host of other charges for attacks on inmates.

Alexandria James, 23, was arraigned before Bronx Supreme Court Justice George Villegas.

Bail was set at $50,000.

She was indicted on two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual abuse, three counts of third-degree aggravated sexual abuse, 20 counts of first-degree sexual abuse, 28 counts of forcible touching, 28 counts of third-degree sexual abuse, three counts of attempted assault in the second-degree, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault, two counts of third-degree intimidating a victim or witness, three counts of first-degree stalking, two counts of third-degree stalking, second-degree menacing, 14 counts of third-degree menacing, three counts of first-degree harassment and 23 counts of second-degree harassment.

If convicted of the top counts, she could face 50 years in prison.

According to the police investigation, while James was locked up in the Rose M. Singer Center, she sexually abused two women on numerous occasions.

While James was housed in a segregated cell with another inmate, the defendant allegedly subjected the inmate to two days of assaults, culminating in penetrating her while wearing a makeshift sex toy.

The prison cell was under video observation and all the incidents were recorded.

James attacked another inmate on several occasions, including one in which she beat her and tore her hair out of her head.

After gaining access to a locked area where the inmate was working and in a shower area, James penetrated her while wearing the homemade sex toy.

James also assaulted an inmate whom she believed had told jail officials about the sexual abuse.

James pushed the inmate, causing her to fall and break her wrist.

The abuse came to light after one of the victims sent a letter to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office.

Two of the women, Geraldine Perkins and Dania Torres, identified themselves in public, blasting Rikers Island officials for turning a blind eye to the abuse.
