A woman decided to give in to her stalker’s demands and marry him.
This came months after she was forced to leave her house in fear of the man.
Although her friends and family told her she was making a mistake, Keren Scott, 37, decided to married her stalker.
Scott and her stalker, Martin, 48, have met in Blackpool, United Kingdom, many years ago. Back then, they dated for a while and were in a relationship. Scott became pregnant and they had a daughter together. After a while, they broke up and went their separate ways.
Martin was unable to find love again, and he began stalking Scott in order to get her back. He convinced Scott that he had spies watching her house 24 hours a day seven days a week, and even threatened to kidnap their daughter.
Keren was fearing for her life and for the life of her daughter. She was forced to move in order to escape his threats.
When she moved, Martin did not know where she was. “After a few months had passed and I did not hear from him, I started getting my confidence back,” she said.
“One day, when I picked up the phone I heard his voice. It scared me, but he just apologized for his behavior and he asked to see his daughter. Before I knew what I was doing, I found myself agreeing to his request,” She said.
The two met in a public place and he was calm and great with their daughter Katie. “It was as if the man, who had threatened and abused me, has left and the real Martin was back,” she added.
“Little by little I remembered the reasons I fell for him in the first place. I began seeing ourselves as a new couple.” she also said.
She decided to forgive her stalker and she actually agreed to marry him.
“I forgave him and wanted him back in my life. I wanted to live together, to marry him and for him to be a good father,” Scott said.
Scott said: “There was a time when I was terrified of what he would do to us, but I really think that if Martin had not done what he did, we would not be married. I will not justify his actions, but now, I think he did it out of love.”
Martin said: “Looking back, I can not believe some of the things I did to Keren. It’s like I was a different person, it makes me feel sick to think about how I threatened her.”
The couple said they are now happily married and happy to be together.
