(Scroll down for video) The driver of a church van was surprised to find a newborn baby who was abandoned on a busy highway, according to police in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma City police said that they are trying to figure out why the mother of the baby boy decided to abandon the infant on I-40.

Roger Prater, who drives a van for the Abba’s House Worship Center, said that on Saturday afternoon, he spotted the baby in a car seat on the side of the road, and stopped to take a look.

At first, he thought that the baby was a doll, but he then saw the infant kicking.

He immediately called police.

A passenger in the van changed the baby’s wet pamper.

Police officers who arrived at the scene, found $5,500 along with a cell phone, birth certificate and social security card near the abandoned car seat.

The baby was rushed to the Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center.

The baby appeared to be in perfect health.

The baby was discharged to the custody of the Department of Human Services.

Police later managed to find the mother of the baby walking along the highway.

She was taken to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.

So far, no charges have been filed.
