(Scroll down for video) A man flew into a rage and tried to kill his child’s mother during a domestic dispute, according to police in Tennessee.

Chattanooga police said that they have arrested 45-year-old Michael Roberson, after being accused of ripping out both eyes of the 33-year-old woman, who was not identified.

Roberson has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

He was booked into the Hamilton County Jail, and his bail has been set at $500,000.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Wednesday, at around 6:30 p.m., in the 7300 block of Frances Drive.

Roberson and his child’s mother got into an argument and he dragged her out into the street.

16-year-old Juan Medina, who lives nearby, heard the commotion and ran to help.

He then saw Roberson sitting on top of the woman and ripping out her eyes with his bare hands.

He also stabbed the woman in the abdomen and on her breasts.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the woman lying face down on the road next to her eyes.

The victim was unable to talk with police, and she was taken to the Erlanger Health System.

10 years ago, Roberson was arrested and charged with trying to kill police officers.

A judge dismissed the charges because he found Roberson to be insane.
