Police dog finds gun at crime scene and fires shot

A police dog that assisted officers at an active crime scene, found a gun and managed to fire a shot, according to police in Canada.

Chestermere police said that they are looking to arrest two suspects who were involved in an assault at a grocery store.

Police officers responded to the scene along with the K-9, at around 6:30 p.m., on Thursday.

Two men who were armed, assaulted another man in the parking lot of the grocery store.

The two suspects managed to flee from the scene before police arrived.

While the police dog was searching for the suspects, it found their discarded weapon.

The dog that was identified by police as a German Shepherd, fired a shot, but luckily, nobody was injured.

Police urged the public to come forward with information about the two suspects.

One suspect was described as a dark skinned male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, slim build, and with darker colored hair.

He was wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

The second suspect was described as a dark skinned male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, slim build, and with darker colored hair.

He was wearing a black shirt, baseball cap and blue jeans.
