A judge in Nigeria, has ordered prosecutors to investigate claims that a police officer demanded sex from a woman in exchange for her freedom.

The incident began when 27-year-old Victoria Amodu of Lagos, was arrested along with several others at the Church Bus stop in Badagry.

Amodu told Justice Kudirat Jose that she was arrested while selling bread to people waiting at the bus stop.

Amodu regularly sold bread in order to feed her four children.

After being transported to the police station, her bail amount was set at $1,111.

When Amodu told the police officer in charge of her case that she had no money for bail, he offered to free her in exchange for sex.

Amodu refused the advances, and she was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and armed robbery.

She was then booked into the Kirikiri Prison.

After hearing Amodu’s story, Justice Jose ordered the Directorate of Public Prosecutions to take over her case.
