Hospital staff members were shocked to see a man injecting cocaine into a drug addicted woman’s IV line, according to police in Florida.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 55-year-old Vincent Frederick Sperling of Vero Beach, after being accused of providing the woman with illegal drugs.

Sperling has been charged with sale, manufacture or delivery of cocaine.

He was booked into the Indian River County Jail, and his bail has been set at $25,000.

According to the police investigation, the woman was admitted to the Indian River Medical Center, in order to treat her drug addiction.

The woman was not allowed to have visitors.

Hospital employees told police that they saw Sperling entering the woman’s room and injecting something in her IV line.

The substance tested positive for cocaine.

Sperling told police that he did not bring drugs into the woman’s room, but the patient said that not only did the suspect bring the cocaine, he injected it into her IV line.
