An employee who was angry with the lack of benefits she received from a nursing, poured drain cleaner into her colleagues' tea, according to police in Japan.

Yamaguchi police said that they have arrested 29-year-old Akino Kimoto, after being accused of trying to kill her colleagues at the city’s social welfare council.

Kimoto has been charged with assault.

During questioning by police, Kimoto admitted to the allegations, saying that she was angry with the way she was treated by her employers.

According to the police investigation, Kimoto worked in a nursing home that is run by the Shimonoseki City social welfare council.

Recently, Kimoto began complaining about the lack of benefits she was receiving as a city employee.

On Monday, at around 12:00 p.m., Kimoto poured drain cleaner into her colleague's tea.

Kimoto then served the contaminated tea to her colleague.

The unsuspecting colleague took a sip of the contaminated tea, but she immediately spat it out as it had a bad taste.

The victim went to the hospital as she began feeling ill.

Luckily, the victim did not suffer any health issues as a result of drinking the drain cleaner.

After Kimoto was arrested, other employees came forward to complain that their tea had also been contaminated.
