(Scroll down for video) A man caused chaos in Florida, after a string of violent crimes before he was shot and killed by police.

FBI agents and Miami-Dade police officers went to the home of 52-year-old Ernesto Padron, to serve him a warrant.

FBI special agent Justin Fleck said that Padron was wanted for robbing a Wells Fargo bank on Sunset Drive.

Authorities arrived at the suspect’s home in north Miami-Dade, at around 6:30 a.m.

When the suspect spotted them, he grabbed a handgun and fled the scene. He then carjacked a motorist and drove away.

During the chase, Padron dumped the first car and he carjacked a woman at gunpoint. He continued the chase with police for about two hours before he pulled up near a river and jumped into the water.

Officers surrounded him in boats near a concrete ledge and attempted to convince him to surrender, Miami-Dade police spokesman Carlos Rosario said.

However, at one point, when he refused to drop a weapon, he was shot dead.

Court records show that Padron had an extensive criminal history. He was wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the bank robbery. Padron had served five stints in state prison for charges such as robbery and burglary.
