Woman steals Social Security money from deaf sister for 7 years while keeping her locked in tiny closet

(Scroll down for video) A cruel woman kept her disabled sister locked in a closet for many years while stealing her government assistance, according to police in Michigan.

The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 46-year-old Candy Lawson after being accused of abusing 44-year-old Dianna Churchill.

In court, Lawson was found guilty of unlawful imprisonment, vulnerable adult abuse, and embezzlement.

Lawson is facing up to 15 years in prison.

According to the police investigation, when Lawson’s mother died, she got custody of her two disabled siblings who were deaf and mute.

33-year-old Justin Churchill died after being found in terrible condition and weighing just 60 pounds.

So far, Lawson has not been charged with his death.

Robert Lamar called the police to report that he saw a woman locked up in a closet at Lawson’s home.

Police officers who arrived at the scene found Dianna in terrible shape.

Investigators claimed that Lawson kept Dianna in a tiny closet for seven years.

She was not fed properly and was forced to urinate in a small bucket.

She weighed only 70 pounds when she was rescued from captivity.

Lawson was accused of stealing the Social Security checks that the government gave to her sister.

In total, Lawson used $19,000 of her sister’s social security payments.
