A man in the United kingdom, was arrested after several men, including a U.S. citizen, filed complaints against him for deliberately infecting them with HIV.

The Lewes Crown Court heard 26-year-old Daryll Rowe of Brighton met his victims on Grindr, and he compromised his condoms to infect them with HIV.

Some victims told the court that Rowe tried to have sex without a condom.

Rowe ensured the man that he was “clean” from any disease, but they refused.

The U.S. citizen told the court that he had to push the victim off him when he insisted on having sex without a condom. Rowe then used a broken condom in order to infect him.

After their encounters, the men told the court, Rowe either called or texted them and laughed over the fact that he infected them with HIV.

He told one man: “I ripped the condom. Burn. I got you.”

Four men, including the American citizen, were infected with the virus. 6 other victims tested negative despite Rowes attempts to sicken them.

Rowe, who worked as a hairdresser, is on trial and is facing many years in prison.

Some people suggested that when Rowe is released from prison, he should move to California, where lawmakers recently voted to decrease the punishment for deliberately infecting someone with HIV.

Knowingly infecting others with HIV is no longer a felony but just a misdemeanor in California.
