Firefighters were horrified to see a naked woman trying to cook her cat alive in the kitchen of her home, according to police in Arizona.

Tucson police said that they have arrested 41-year-old Ebony Hurndon after being accused of lighting her cat on fire.

Hurndon has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, arson of an occupied structure and animal cruelty.

She was booked into the Pima County jail, pending a bail hearing.

According to the police investigation, Hurndon’s neighbor called 911 after noticing smoke coming from her apartment on Friday, at around 2:30 a.m.

Firefighters arrived at the apartment located in the 4300 block of East 29th Street and found Hurndon standing naked in the doorway.

She grabbed a knife and tried to stab one of the firefighters who tried to enter her apartment.

Luckily, the knife only cut the firefighter’s jacket.

Firefighters called police because Hurndon threatened them with a knife and they could not put out the fire that was burning in the kitchen.

Police officers who arrived at the scene used a Taser to subdue Hurndon and arrested her.

Police and firefighters then entered the apartment and put out the fire.

Investigators determined that the kitchen caught on fire while Hurndon tried to cook her cat alive.

The cat did not survive the blaze.
