(Scroll down for video) A boy was arrested after he grabbed his mother’s gun and shot another child.

According to the suspect’s mother, her 13-year-old son was bullied by a 12-year-old boy who lives close to her home.

“He is a good kid who has been bullied for two years and he just had enough,” the suspect’s mother said in his defense.

Police in Taunton, Massachusetts, believe that a feud began on Facebook.

On the day of the incident, the Taunton Police Department received a report of a shooting at 12:10 p.m.

Officers responded to the area of 100 Highstone Street, where they located the 12-year-old victim, who sustained a single gunshot to his left arm.

“The shot had entered his left arm. The bullet continued on into his lower rib cage, where it remained,” police said.

The victim was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the 13-year-old shooter was arrested.

He was charged with one count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a loaded firearm without a license and discharging a weapon within 500 feet of a dwelling.

Both the shooter and the victim claimed to be a victim of bullying by the other.

The suspect claimed that on the day of the incident, the 12-year-old came to his yard and tried to stab him. He was scared so he went into his house, unlocked his mother’s safe and removed the gun.

The suspect then went looking for the victim. He located the victim in a wooded area and shot him.
