(Scroll down for video) Several women who were visiting a park, suffered injuries after taking selfies with elk, according to police in Missouri.

The incident unfolded at the Lone Elk Park, which is located in St. Louis.

On Sunday afternoon, a group of visitors got very close to elk in order to take great photographs.

While a woman was taking a selfie, the dominant elk in the herd began making sounds as a warning, but the visitors ignored it.

Moments later, an elk gored the woman in the arm.

She suffered serious puncture wounds in her arm and several other minor injuries.

Last week, another woman was gored while taking selfies with an elk.

Police have put up warning signs, alerting people not to get too close to the animals since they attack when feeling threatened.
