Violence broke out in a home of a couple after a cat died in a dryer, according to police in Indiana.

Evansville police said that they responded to the couple’s home after the woman used bug spray to attack her boyfriend.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Wednesday, at around 7:30 p.m.

50-year-old Arletha Cayson who works as a nurse assistant said that when she came home from work, she realized that her cat has died.

Cayson believes that her boyfriend, who was identified only as Whitlock, left the dryer door open after which her cat went inside.

Cayson later turned on the dryer, and she did not realize that her cat was inside.

As a result, the cat died.

Cayson then blamed her boyfriend for her cat’s demise.

An argument broke out, during which Whitlock grabbed Cayson’s shirt.

Cayson responded by grabbing a can of insect killer and spraying her boyfriend in the eyes.

Police officers who arrived at the scene diffused the situation.

No arrests have been made after both parties agreed to let things cool off for the night.
