U.S. Border Patrol agents took 5 illegal immigrants into custody after performing emergency medical treatment following a vehicle roll over.

A police officer reported seeing a vehicle leaving Anzalduas Park in Mission, Texas, at a high rate of speed.

Agents responded and located the vehicle. Upon seeing the patrol unit, the juvenile driver made an abrupt maneuver that caused the vehicle to roll over.

Agents, including Border Patrol Certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), provided immediate medical attention.

Six people were transported to local hospitals, where they were treated for multiple injuries.

Police discovered that the driver is a citizen of the United States and the front passenger, a juvenile Mexican national, were responsible for picking up five illegal immigrants at the border and transporting them.

“It is extremely concerning to see transnational criminal organizations preying upon teenagers in our communities to become ruthless smugglers, using dangerous tactics with no regard for human life,” said Chief Patrol Agent Manuel Padilla, Jr.

“We urge immigrants not to jeopardize their lives by illegally entering the United States,” police said.
