(Scroll down for video) Police in California, are investigating a bizarre crime scene, where a mother was found lying naked in the street next to her two children.

The 2-month-old baby girl was found dead.

Her 8-year-old sister and their 26-year-old mother were hospitalized after they were discovered outside a Los Angeles store.

All three were naked and covered with a white powder, which police described as a “baby product.”

The grim discovery was made at 1:45 a.m., in a parking lot behind the Numero Uno Market, near the intersection of East 23rd and South San Pedro streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The mother and 8-year-old were taken to a hospital. The girl is in said to be in critical condition while her mother was said to be in stable condition.

LAPD Lt. Chris Ramirez confirmed that the woman and children had been seen wandering around the neighborhood naked at 10:30 p.m., three hours before they were found.

Sadly, nobody called for help until they heard screams coming from behind the store, and at that point, it was too late to save the baby.

A store owner said the mother was a regular customer who lived down the street. Police also found the white powder inside the home, where the woman and her children lived.

Police released surveillance videos from a store, where the mother was last seen shopping. She was seen in the store with a man, who is believed the be the father of the children.

He was seen holding the baby while they were shopping. The 8-year-old was also with them.

The store owner said that the mother looked disheveled “was not acting like herself, and she was barefoot” when she bought ajax and gloves.

Police said that they want to talk to him, but they are not calling him a person of interest.

Police have not yet released a motive, but are treating the case as a homicide.

However, her neighbors said that they feared the woman was in an abusive relationship with the children’s father as they often heard him screaming at her and calling her names.
