Cleveland police officer had sex with 13-year-old boy multiple times and she ordered him to lie about it

(Scroll down for video) A police officer carried on a sexual relationship with a young boy and told him to lie about it to investigators, according to police in Ohio.

Cleveland police said that they have arrested 24-year-old Maria K. Velez after being accused of having sex multiple times with the 13-year-old boy.

Velez has been charged with sexual battery.

She was booked into the Cleveland City Jail, and Cleveland Municipal Judge Michelle Earley set her bail at $10,000.

Velez was also ordered to have no contact with the boy.

Velez was suspended without pay as a result of the allegations.

According to the police investigation, Velez graduated from the John Carroll University, where she obtained degrees in psychology and Spanish.

He was then hired by the Clark Elementary as a bilingual instructional aide.

While at the school, Velez had sex with the 13-year-old boy multiple times.

Velez resigned from her position at the school after being hired as a Cleveland police officer.

When police began investigating the sexual assault, Velez contacted the boy and instructed him to lie to investigators.
