(Scroll down for video) A woman who is 9 months pregnant, confessed to police that she was scared of what the future holds for her and her son-to-born baby.

The woman and her boyfriend of West Virginia were found sleeping on makeshift beds, which were placed on a cement landing near a riverbank in Charleston.

Police handed her an eviction notice ordered by the court, and they were told to leave the area. A social worker was asked to work with the woman and help her.

Due to the large number of homeless people in the area, police chief Steve Coope created a new police unit called Hybrid patrols.

The unit is tasked with searching for homeless people.

According to police, a large number of homeless people are criminals who have warrants out for their arrests.

When found, they are arrested and placed behind bars. Others are given a one-way ticket so they can reunite with family members in their hometowns.

Locals are either connected with social workers or get other help so that they can get back on their feet.
