(Scroll down for video) A school counselor violated the trust of parents when she engaged in sexual activities with two minor students.

31-year-old Barbara Lynn Orpineda from Texas was arrested after the parents of two girls told school officials about inappropriate text messages they found on their children’s phones.

When the parents spoke to their children about the text messages, they discovered that the two were being sexually exploited by the school counselor.

Orpineda was suspended administratively from her job as a counselor at Arp Elementary School after officials became aware of the allegations.

The district launched an internal investigation and reported the allegations to the authorities.

Orpineda, who taught 7th grade math for four years before becoming a counselor, was charged with two counts of improper relationship between educator and student and two counts of sexual assault of a child.

She was booked into Smith County Jail, and was released after posting $200,000 bond.
