The incident unfolded at the Elysee Palace as President Emmanuel Macron was speaking with three members of his government.

Brune Poirson, who was present at the meeting, said that she suddenly heard a strange noise.

When she turned around, she saw the president’s dog named Nemo, 2, standing at the fireplace.

One of his legs was in the air and he was urinating into the fireplace.

Poirson pointed out to everyone in the room what the president’s dog was doing.

Macron apologized on behalf of his dog’s bad behavior and he was visibly uncomfortable.

Macron said that his dog did something quite exceptional.

Macron and his wife Brigitte bought the dog from an animal rescue center for around $250.

The incident was recorded on video and was uploaded to the Internet, where it went viral.
