A man in Canada, has been arrested for pretending to be a good Samaritan before kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman.

Inspector Shaun Wright, Operations Officer for the Prince George RCMP, said that they arrested 26-year-old Sukhjinder Singh on charges of sexual assault and kidnapping, and he faces life in prison if convicted.

A woman told police that she was fixing a flat tire at a gas station near the intersection of 5th Avenue and Tabor Boulevard, at approximately 2:00 a.m.

Singh exited a vehicle and offered to help. When the two were unable to fix the tire, Singh offered to give the female a ride to her home.

However, instead of driving her home, Singh turned into a parking lot, where he sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to fend off her attacker and fled on foot.

At about 4:30 a.m., the woman called the police. By the time police arrived at the scene, Singh was no longer in the car.

This arrest came after a comprehensive investigation, which included forensic evidence and information from the public, Wright said.

In a press conference, Wright warned that people “have to take normal precautions especially in the morning hours and unfortunately particularly if you are a female being alone.”
