(Scroll down for video) A woman who wanted to impact the world by becoming a doctor, was unable to fulfill her dreams after getting sick.

However, her illness did not stop her from wanting to save lives.

28-year-old Lou Tao of China, decided to stop treatment in order to donate her organs to other sick people.

She will also donate her head for medical research in order to help other people so they do not have to suffer.

Tao was very happy when she was accepted at the prestigious Peking University in Beijing in 2015.

Sadly, a few months after joining the university, she became sick and was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, a debilitating neurodegenerative disease.

After being hospitalized for her illness and unable to move, Tao decided to end her treatment in order to help others in the long term. When her father refused to stop her treatment, Tao went on a hunger strike.

She then had nurses assist her in writing a will, which her family now made public. She wrote in part: “After I die, I would like to donate my head for medical research. I hope one day we will find the cure to ALS, so that mankind will no longer suffer from it.

“I want my other organs to be donated to help save people’s lives. I would like the rest of my body to be cremated and the ashes to be scattered in Yangtze River. No funeral service or tomb.

“The meaning of life is not about how long one lives, but rather the quality of one’s life.”

Tao is now in a medically induced coma in the ICU at the Wuhan Hanyang Hospital.
