(Scroll down for video) Police in Australia, launched an investigation to learn how a dementia patient managed to wander out of a nursing home after which she was eaten by a crocodile.

Craiglie Creek police said that the remains of 79-year-old Anne Cameron were found inside a 12-foot-long crocodile.

Last week, Cameron vanished from the Ozcare nursing home.

Investigators believe that Cameron wandered out of the home carrying a walking stick.

She became disoriented and walked into a grassy area.

A crocodile spotted her and she was eaten alive.

Police found her clothes and walking stick near a creek.

Traps were set to catch the crocodile.

After two days, police caught the crocodile, which contained Cameron’s remains.
