15-year-old boy sets family home on fire because he was angry with his mother

A teenage boy who became angry with his mother decided to burn down his family’s home, according to police in California.

Los Angeles police said that they have arrested the 15-year-old boy, who was not identified, after being accused of burning down his mother’s home.

He is facing a charge of arson.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Sunday, at around 5:00 p.m., at a house located in the 5200 block of Calico Avenue.

The boy had an argument with his mother and he became upset.

The boy stormed out of the home and doused the walls with gasoline before setting it on fire.

The boy’s siblings and mother managed to escape from the home unharmed.

Firefighters who responded to the scene managed to extinguish the flames.

Investigators estimated the damage to the home at $70,000.

The home was deemed uninhabitable.

The boy escaped from the scene before police arrived.

Police waited at the home until the boy returned later that night.

He was then taken into custody.

Neighbors told police that the family moved into the home about 3 months ago and they did a lot of renovations.
