A teenage boy who fatally stabbed his teacher during class told classmates that he planned on stabbing another teacher in the abdomen in order to kill her unborn child, according to police in the United Kingdom.
The boy was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to killing his teacher.
Leeds Police said that 15-year-old Will Cornick murdered his teacher, 61-year-old Ann Maguire, because he was banned from a school trip as a punishment for not doing his homework.
The boy, however, managed to go on the trip despite the ban.
The incident unfolded in the boy’s classroom at the Corpus Christi Catholic College.
A court was told that the boy winked at another child before he attacked his teacher from behind.
Cornick stabbed his teacher seven times in the back and neck as she bent over a desk to look at a student’s work.
Maguire was stabbed with a large kitchen knife and was also punched in the face.
Students heard Cornick warn that he would attack the teacher with a knife, but no one took him seriously.
He also showed classmates the large knife before the stabbing.
Cornick was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 20 years.
During a hearing about Maguire’s death, the police revealed that Cornick planned on stabbing another pregnant teacher in the abdomen in order to kill her unborn child.
The pregnant teacher, Sinead Miley, was not injured but she is now afraid of her students.
Cornick told a classmate that he planned to stab another teacher, Andrew Kellett, in the throat because he wanted to go to prison.
One of his classmates told investigators that Cornick asked to record the attack on video.
