3 American basketball players arrested in China for shoplifting while in the country for a gameBy William Martin 6:57 AM November 9, 2017
A group of basketball players left their entire team humiliated when they were arrested for shoplifting.
The UCLA basketball team from Los Angeles, California, traveled to China for their game against Georgia Tech in Shanghai, on Saturday.
However, the team is making headlines for the wrong reasons.
Three men in the group were arrested after being accused of shoplifting.
Police in Hangzhou were called by staff members of a Louis Vuitton store after three basketball players were accused of stealing high-end sunglasses from the store near the Hyatt Regency Hotel, where they were staying.
25 police officers stormed the hotel and confronted the men.
They arrested LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill, and Cody Riley.
They were eventually freed on bail but were ordered to stay at their hotel in Hangzhou until legal proceedings are completed.
The UCLA basketball team has continued with their schedule without them.
