Three underage football players were charged as adults after being accused of gang-raping a girl and recording the attack on video, according to police in Pennsylvania.
West York police said that they have arrested Kelvin J. Mercedes, Andrew R. Miller, and Daishon M. Richardson, all 16-years-old, after being accused of gang-raping the 14-year-old girl.
The York County District Attorney’s Office announced that the three football players will be charged as adults.
The suspects are facing charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful restraint, and making terroristic threats.
They were booked into jail and bail has been set at $25,000 each.
According to the police investigation, the girl was at the York Fair when she was followed by the three suspects who played for the Central York High School football team.
At some point, one of the teens told the girl to follow him because he wanted to show her something.
He then pulled out a gun and order her to get on the ground.
The football players then forced the girl to perform sex acts on them.
The girl was then taken to an apartment, where she was gang-raped.
The girl told investigators that while she was raped, she saw one of the suspects holding a cellphone and recording the attack.
The girl was taken to a hospital, where doctors confirmed that a sexual assault took place.
Doctors called the police to the hospital, where detectives interviewed the girl.
The girl was able to identify her three attackers and the football players were arrested.
