(Scroll down for video) The owner of a daycare in Florida was arrested for abusing a child.
The daycare was shut down by the Child Care Licensing Board pending an investigation.
Other employees admitted to police that they witnessed 59-year-old Colleen Williams Days abusing children but did not report it.
Police were called by the mother of a 2-year-old boy when she noticed three large red marks on the victim’s left and right thighs.
The mother reported that she had picked her son from the Itsy Bitsy Kids World daycare center in Largo, and after returning home, she noticed the red marks.
The mother called the daycare and asked what happened to her son. The mother was told that her son fell, but they did not give her any further explanation of how he got the bruises.
The mother took her son to a doctor, and medical staff determined that the two large bruises on his right thigh and three large bruises on his left thigh, were consistent with child abuse.
During their investigation, employees told detectives that Days often struck children with her hand or a shoe as punishment.
After her arrest, Days admitted to detectives that she beat the victim several times with his own shoes because he would not put them on when asked.
Days was arrested and charged with one count of Child Abuse. Her bail was set at $5,000 bond.
