A family in Arizona is grateful to a dog after it alerted them to a perverted man who managed to get into their home.
Phoenix police said that the family returned home to find their dog barking next to a closet.
The father armed himself with a crowbar and opened the door to find a stranger inside.
When the suspect saw the armed father, he fled from the home and drove off in his car.
The mother was able to get the suspect’s license plate number and they called the police.
The family noticed several items in the closet that had not been there before. They found underwear belonging to their 16-year-old teenage daughter, lotions, and photos of the girl.
Police located the car near 27th Avenue and Glendale and pulled over the suspect, who was identified as 34-year-old Michael Zabalza Ruelas.
Police said that inside the vehicle, they found more underwear belonging to the teenager.
After his arrest, Ruelas told the police that he entered the house through a window and that he collected underwear from several laundry baskets in the home.
Ruelas was charged with one count of second-degree burglary. His bail was set at $3,500.
