Father who was jealous about ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend caring for his son beat him with meat cleaverBy Tanya Clark 1:20 PM November 23, 2017
A father in the United Kingdom was jailed for life for beating a man who was taking care of his son.
28-year-old Anthony Thompson of Manchester was in a 4-year relationship with 30-year-old Nicola Crossley before they had a baby boy.
The two split up in 2016 and they continued to share custody of their son.
Recently, Thompson learned that his son’s mother was in a new relationship with a man named Cameron Sharp.
According to court records, Thompson was furious after discovering that Sharp was helping his ex-girlfriend care for his 4-year-old son.
The boy is Thompson’s only child.
Thompson hid outside of his ex-girlfriend’s house. When Sharp came out of the home at 6:30 a.m., Thompson attacked him.
Thompson beat the victim with a meat cleaver at least three times, leaving him with blood streaming down his face. A good Samaritan called the police and the victim was taken to a hospital.
Thompson claimed that his son was “treated poorly by Sharp.”
Thompson pleaded guilty to attempted murder at the Manchester Crown Court and was jailed for life. He must serve a minimum of ten years before being eligible for parole.
