A father in the United Kingdom was jailed after he admitted to killing his newborn daughter because she cried too much.
22-year-old Liam Deane was jailed last month after he admitted to killing his two-day-old daughter Luna in the family home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
The court heard that Deane lost his temper when his newborn daughter would not stop crying. He punched the baby in the face, squeezed her body, and shook her.
Luna was taken to a hospital, where she died of her injuries.
Deane was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 10 years before being eligible for parole.
Just one month into his prison sentence, Deane had been found dead in his cell at the HMP Leeds.
Police arrested another prisoner for his murder. Police said that 28-year-old John Westland killed Deame.
Westland appeared in the Leeds Magistrates’ Court on charges of murder.
