A man flew into a rage and scalded a teenager by pouring boiling water on her in their shared kitchen, according to police in the United Kingdom.
Carlton Anderson, 53, of Portland Road in South Norwood, was jailed for 11 years and 6 months at the Croydon Crown Court.
He had previously pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The victim, a 19-year-old woman, was a tenant at a home on Portland Road, where she shared communal facilities with Anderson who also lived there.
One day, the teen and Anderson were both in the kitchen when he threatened the victim.
He then grabbed a pot of boiling water from the stove and poured the liquid on her body.
Anderson then grabbed a frying pan and hit the victim numerous times.
The teenager sustained serious burns to her arms, shoulders, face, and head.
The victim managed to call the police and Anderson was arrested at the scene.
DC Jennifer Williams, who led the investigation, said: “This was a horrific attack on the victim, who is still going through a long process of emotional and physical recovery.
“Anderson is an extremely dangerous man and I am pleased that he has received a substantial prison sentence.”
