Two young women suffered stab wounds after their neighbor barged into their apartments attacked them for playing loud music, according to police in the United Kingdom.
Now, the suspect has been jailed for six years after being convicted of grievous bodily harm (GBH).
John Roberts, 30, of Bracklesham Bay, Chichester, was convicted and sentenced following a two day trial at the Aylesbury Crown Court.
In addition to being convicted of GBH, Roberts also pleaded guilty to another charge of actual bodily harm.
According to the police investigation, one morning at around 5:00 a.m., Roberts went to his neighbor’s apartment to complain about the loud volume of the music being played.
He armed himself with a knife and forced himself into the women’s apartment.
An argument ensued and the two women, about 25-year-old, sustained injuries to their hands.
One woman sustained such serious injuries to her hand that she required plastic surgery to repair damaged tendons.
The other victim received a cut to the back of her hand.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Fred Ruffle of Aylesbury Force said: “This sentence goes to show that knife crime will not be tolerated in the Thames Valley. Those who decide to arm themselves with such weapons should be prepared to the face the full force of the police and the judicial system.
“I would like to thank the victims and witnesses involved in the case for their continued support and bravery in giving evidence, without them, this conviction would not have been secured.”
