(Scroll down for video) A democrat lawmaker in New York, had a mental breakdown after being stopped for speeding in a residential area, according to a video that was uploaded to the Internet.

The incident began when Ulster Police Officer Gary Short spotted Ulster County Legislator Jennifer Schwartz Berky traveling 43 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone.

During the 26-minute traffic stop, Berky was seen crying and having difficulty breathing in the Aldi supermarket parking lot located on East Chester Street Bypass.

Berky claimed to be having a panic attack and suffering post-traumatic stress disorder.

The democrat of Kingston told Short that she is looking for a full-time job and was broke.

She also repeatedly said that she is a lawmaker in the county.

Berky, who was driving a Toyota Prius, was upset that she was singled out, claiming that all the cars were traveling at around 45 miles per hour.

When Short offered a reduced ticket of not wearing a seatbelt instead of speeding, Berky protested, saying that this was not the reason Short pulled her over.

When Short said that he will indeed give her a speeding ticket, Berky completely broke down.

Short’s dash cam recorded Berky repeatedly yelling “panic attack” and “PTSD.”

When Short realized that Berky was having difficulty breathing, he offered to call an ambulance, but she did not respond to him.

Police eventually released the dash cam video after someone filed a Freedom of Information Request.

Berky is running for reelection.

This week, Berky apologized for her behavior.
