A prison inmate filed a complaint with police after a chaplain pressured her to engage in sexual activity with him, according to police in Ohio.
The inmate at the Dayton Correctional Institution reported that 53-year-old Kenneth Bozeman of Dayton had sexual contact with her.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol opened an investigation and took forensic evidence, leading to Bozeman’s arrest.
The prison chaplain was convicted of 9 counts of sexual assault.
Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck said that instead of providing spiritual guidance to the inmates, this defendant took advantage of his position of confidence for his own sexual gratification.”
Kenneth Bozeman was sentenced to five years probation. If he violates any portion of the terms of his probation, he could face 45 years in prison.
The former prison chaplain was also banned from offering services as a pastor or counselor.
In addition, Bozeman must register as a Level III sex offender for the rest of his life.
