(Scroll down for video) A teacher admitted that she bit a small child’s face because she did not like his behavior, according to police in Louisiana.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 28-year-old Heather Marcotte after being accused of assaulting her 2-year-old student.
Marcotte has been charged with cruelty to a juvenile.
She was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
If convicted, Marcotte faces up to 10 years in prison.
According to the police investigation, shortly after 4:15 p.m., on Wednesday, the parent of the 2-year-old student at Northlake Christian School called the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office to report an incident that occurred at the school.
The mother told deputies that when she went to pick up her son at school at approximately 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, she observed what appeared to a bite mark on her son’s right cheek.
The mother said an administrator at the school informed her that her son’s teacher reported that she left the mark on the child when her mouth accidentally hit his face and that the teacher had been terminated following the incident.
During that investigation, Marcotte admitted to biting the child after she became frustrated and agitated with the child’s behavior.
