A man who wanted to hurt his girlfriend took out his anger on her puppy.

Police arrested 18-year-old Antonio Hollywood Campbell from North Carolina for attacking his girlfriend and brutally killing her puppy.

Campbell’s girlfriend, Jordan Stevens, told police that she and her boyfriend got into an argument over their relationship several times.

On one occasion, the two were arguing when Stevens ran into a room, where she called her mother. Campbell accused her of speaking to a man so he threw her on a bed and choked her until she was unable to breathe.

On another occasion, while fighting, Campbell told his girlfriend: “well, if you are not going to be with me, then I am going to kill the dog.”

He then grabbed the puppy’s leash and swung it around. He left the home with the puppy.

He tied the leash to the back of a vehicle and drove several feet, dragging the puppy from behind, according to police.

Stevens told police that Campbell then placed the puppy between two cinder blocks so it couldn’t move and decapitated the animal with a hatchet.

Campbell was charged with domestic violence felony strangulation for the assault, and animal cruelty.

While searching the home, detectives found a sawed-off shotgun. This led to charges of possession of a weapon of mass destruction.
