Wife calls police after finding husband’s child porn stash in bedroom dresser

A man is behind bars after his wife called the police to report that he had been viewing and downloading child porn, according to police in Florida.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 48-year-old Charles Gilbert Parsons after he kept thousands of child porn photos on a thumb drive.

Parsons was charged with 40 felony counts of possession of child porn and sexual performance by a child.

He remains at the Sarasota County Jail without bond.

The investigation began Monday when a thumb drive was turned in to deputies and a report was made about it possibly having illegal content on it.

Detectives assigned to the case quickly obtained a search warrant and submitted the thumb drive to the sheriff’s digital forensics lab for further examination.

The thumb drive, which was recovered from the suspect’s home located in the 1800 block of Mova Street, contained 2,076 images and 40 videos depicting child pornography.

Most children were about 7 years old.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said that the images showed 629 victims of child porn.

Of these victims, 162 children were known to police while 169 files hows children who were never known to be victims of child abuse.

Police said that Parsons’ wife Yulia called them to say that she found the suspicious thumb drive in his dresser.

She said her husband had been acting suspicious and was extremely secretive about his Internet use.

He also kept his cell phone near him at all times.

The couple had two sons, ages 11 and 12, living in the home.
