(Scroll down for video) Police were surprised to see a woman riding a horse down a busy road so they decided to pull her over, according to police in Florida.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 53-year-old Donna Byrne after being accused of riding the horse under the influence of alcohol.
Byrne has been charged with one count each of DUI and animal neglect.
She was booked into the Polk County Jail, pending a bail hearing.
According to the police investigation, a person called police on Thursday, at around 1:30 p.m., to report that Byrne was riding a horse and appeared to be confused.
Police officers caught up with her on Combee Road, where they initiated a traffic stop.
Police said that Byrne reeked of alcohol and had red eyes.
A breathalyzer test showed that Byrne’s blood alcohol content level was at .16 or twice the legal driving limit.
Byrne was taken to jail while the horse was placed in the custody of the police.
