A youth pastor was arrested for going on a murderous rampage during a domestic violence incident.
The youth pastor was taken into custody at his home in Virginia after killing three people on Thanksgiving.
58-year-old Christopher Gattis is accused of shooting his wife, Jeanett Gattis, 58, his step-daughter, Candice Kunze, 30, and the young woman’s boyfriend, Andrew Buthorn, 36.
Chesterfield County Police said that they arrived at the home at about 11:30 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.
Officers found the body of Buthorn in the front yard. The bodies of the two female victims were found inside the residence.
Gattis is being held without bond after being charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Police described the shooting as domestic related, but they have not yet released a motive.
A deacon at Grace Lutheran Church on Harrowgate Road in Chester confirmed that Gattis was a full-time youth pastor there.
Neighbors expressed their shock over the triple murder as they knew the suspect as a nice and kind man.
