A young child lost his life at a gym after falling into a mop bucket full of water, according to police in California.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Abused Child Unit said that they have launched an investigation into the drowning death of the 1-year-old boy.
North Hollywood police said that the incident unfolded at the gym that is located in the 12000 block of Saticoy Street, on Thursday, at around 11:30 a.m.
The mother of the child left the baby in a room, where he went to sleep.
Meanwhile, the mother went into the Zumba studio.
At some point, the boy fell into a mop bucket full of water.
People rushed over to pull the baby out of the mop bucket but he already turned blue.
The baby was in the mop bucket for several minutes.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene found the baby non-responsive.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where the boy died.
Doctors said that the baby died as a result of drowning.
A witness at the scene said that the baby was sleeping in another room when the mother worked out.
The baby woke up and he did not know what to do.
He then somehow landed in the mop bucket.
The mother immediately panicked and called for help, according to the witness.
He also said that the baby’s legs and face were blue by the time paramedics arrived.
