A fight between roommates over fast food turned deadly after one student grabbed a knife and plunged it into the chest of his classmate, according to police in Ohio.
Akron police said that they have arrested Kendall Scheid, 23, for killing Duncan Unternaher, 23.
In court, Scheid pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
Summit County Common Pleas Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands sentenced Scheid to 3 years in prison.
Scheid will be eligible for parole in 6 months.
According to the police investigation, Scheid and Unternaher attended the University Of Akron and were roommates with another student.
One night, Scheid and Unternaher were drunk and bought fast food at Arby’s.
When they came back to their apartment located in the 400 block of Grant Street, Scheid and Unternaher began to fight over the food.
Scheid then grabbed a knife and stabbed Unternaher in the chest.
The third roommate called 911 to ask for help.
Unternaher was rushed to the Summa Akron City Hospital, where he died 2 days later.
