A man was jailed for killing his best friend out of jealousy.
Persecutors in Swinton, England, said that 23-year-old Anton Farrell planned the murder for some time before carrying out the evil act.
Farrell had been a close friend of the victim, 19-year-old Karl Harrison, before “bad blood” developed between them.
The bad blood began when Harrison starting dating Farrell’s ex-girlfriend, Rionne York.
Farrell had been in a relationship with York and the two had a child together before they split up. Months after the two broke up, York began dating Harrison.
The Manchester Crown Court heard that Farrell was furious that his best friend “had the temerity” to start dating his ex-girlfriend.
Farrell decided to take revenge and kill Harrison. One night, at 8:30, Harrison rode his bike to a location where Harrison was speaking with his friends.
Farrell stopped his bike and stabbed Harrison twice before quickly riding away. Harrison was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Judge Richard Mansell QC sentenced Farrell to life in prison. He must serve 21 years before he can be eligible for parole.
