Man arrested after his stinky socks caused chaos on busBy Mason White 5:23 AM December 3, 2017
Smelly socks caused chaos and led to an arrest on a bus.
Police in India said that they have arrested a man whose smelly socks caused a confrontation on the bus while his fellow passengers protested the pungent smell.
According to police, the man took off his shoes and socks on the bus that runs from the Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh to New Delhi and put them near the aisle.
Other passengers demanded that he put it back on or throw them away.
The man refused, prompting a heated confrontation that forced the bus driver to stop the bus. Police chief Sanjeev Gandhi said that when the driver was unable to resolve the fight, he drove to a nearby police station.
The owner of the smelly socks was arrested on charges of causing public discomfort and was later released on bail, Gandhi said.
The man, in turn, filed a complaint against his fellow passengers and the bus crew for the harassment and insisted that his socks did not smell, the officer said.
He left the area on another bus a day later.
