A man perpetrated a horrific crime against a defenseless dog, according to police in New York.

Port Washington police said that they have arrested 20-year-old Aaron Francis Kluger after being accused of biting off the eye of a 3-year-old dog that belonged to his parents.

Kluger has been charged with torturing and injuring an animal.

Kluger denied the allegations, saying that he simply played with the dog when the eye just popped out.

On Monday, at about 9:00 p.m., a 3-year-old Shih Tzu naked Chloe was brought to an animal hospital with a serious eye injury.

Upon an examination, the veterinarian determined that Chloe’s right eye was bitten out.

The veterinarian immediately notified the Nassau County SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

Nassau County SPCA detectives conducted an investigation.

On Saturday, Kluger was arrested and charged with the crime.

He is due to appear at the First District Court in Hempstead.

Chloe underwent surgery to reattach her right eye.

At this time, with proper care and treatment, the veterinarian is hopeful the eye will be saved.
