A man who took a stroll in a wooded area was shocked to find garbage bags full of beheaded birds, according to police in New Jersey.
The Little Egg Harbor Township Police Department said that on Saturday, the Little Egg Harbor Police Department was dispatched to a wooded section of Winding Wood Drive near Route 9 for a report of trash bags containing dead birds.
Further examination revealed 22 dead birds, including roosters, hens, guinea hens, and pigeons in the bag, all of which had been decapitated.
On Monday, the police were again dispatched to the same location, where bags containing 5 more decapitated birds were also located.
The Little Egg Harbor Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incidents to contact Detective Joel Mahr at 609 296 3666 extension 178.
Ken Carter said that he stumbled upon the garbage bags while walking his dog at around 9:00 a.m.
Most garbage bags were hanging from tree branches while some were on the ground.
He looked inside, and it appeared that all the birds were white and beheaded.
The heads were also in the garbage bags.
