A young couple in Tennessee was arrested after they got into a drunken fight before causing their son to be run over by a car.

Police were called to an apartment complex in Memphis after 3:00 a.m. on reports of a baby being run over by his mother’s car.

Police learned that Yacoubian Benner and Tamara Roscoe got into a domestic dispute. Neighbors reported being woken up by the couple’s screams before hearing a gunshot.

During the fight, Benner allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face and fired a shot with his gun. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

In an attempt to get away, Roscoe placed their 1-year-old son, King Benner, in the passenger seat of the car and she reversed.

Roscoe had not closed the passenger side door and when she reversed, her son fell out of the car. Roscoe continued reversing and drove over her son.

A witness screamed for the mother to stop and emergency workers were called.

The toddler was rushed to a hospital, where he is said to be in critical condition after he suffered a fracture to his skull.

Roscoe was treated for minor injuries at the scene. She was then arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended license.

Officers also arrested Benner. He’s charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

People commented on Roscoe’s Facebook page, expressing their anger over the parents being out drinking late at night and endangering their child.
